Grief & Loss Therapy
Finding space for what you've lost
Grief can change everything.
The loss of someone you love can bring sadness, anger, confusion, guilt, loneliness or a sense that life no longer feels quite the same. But grief isn't only connected to bereavement. We can also experience grief through the loss of a relationship, a way of life, our health, an important part of our identity or something we had hoped for.
There is no single way to grieve, and there is no timetable that tells you when you should feel better.
A space to process your loss
My approach is person-centred, which means your experience of grief is yours to explore at your own pace.
Therapy can offer you somewhere to talk honestly about what has happened and the impact it has had on you, without judgement or expectations about how you should be coping.
You might want to talk about the person or life you have lost. You might be struggling with emotions that feel difficult to understand. Or perhaps you feel numb and disconnected and aren't sure how to begin processing what has happened.
Whatever your experience, there is space for it.
When grief affects everyday life
Grief can affect relationships, work, sleep, confidence and your ability to connect with everyday life.
You may find yourself feeling overwhelmed one moment and completely numb the next. You may experience guilt, anger or anxiety, or find yourself questioning who you are now that something important has changed.
Therapy can help you make sense of these experiences while giving you space to gradually reconnect with yourself.
Where appropriate, I may also draw from other therapeutic approaches and frameworks, particularly when grief is connected with trauma or difficult experiences from the past.
You don't have to grieve alone
Asking for support doesn't mean that you're not coping or that you should be "over it" by now.
Sometimes we simply need somewhere safe to put down what we've been carrying.
I offer online therapy to clients across the UK, with in-person therapy available in Berkshire.
