Addiction & Compulsive Behaviours Therapy

When something feels difficult to control

Addiction and compulsive behaviours can sometimes become ways of coping with emotions, experiences or situations that feel difficult to manage.

You may feel caught in a pattern that you understand isn't helping you, but find it difficult to change.

This can bring shame, frustration, guilt or the feeling that you should be able to stop on your own.

You don't have to face that experience without support.

Understanding what sits underneath

My approach is person-centred, which means we'll look beyond the behaviour itself and explore your individual experience.

Together, we can begin to understand what may be happening underneath the pattern, including emotions, relationships, stress, anxiety, self-esteem or difficult experiences.

Therapy isn't about judgement or blame. It's about creating a space where you can be honest about what is happening and begin to understand yourself more deeply.

Exploring patterns and coping

Sometimes behaviours that later become difficult began as ways of coping with something else.

Understanding those patterns can help you develop greater awareness of what you're feeling and what you may need.

We can explore what happens before, during and after certain behaviours, as well as the thoughts and emotions connected to them.

A confidential, non-judgemental space

Talking about addiction or compulsive behaviour can feel incredibly vulnerable.

You don't need to minimise your experience or have everything figured out before reaching out.

I offer online therapy to clients across the UK, with in-person therapy available in Berkshire.

Looking for therapy in your area?

I offer in-person therapy in Sunninghill, Berkshire, close to Ascot, Virginia Water and Windsor, as well as online therapy across the UK.
