Anxiety Therapy
When anxiety starts to take up too much space
Anxiety can affect far more than how you feel in a particular moment. It can influence your thoughts, relationships, confidence, work, sleep and the way you move through everyday life.
You might find yourself constantly worrying, overthinking conversations, expecting something to go wrong, struggling to switch off or feeling overwhelmed by things that once felt manageable. Sometimes anxiety can feel very obvious, while at other times it can sit quietly underneath everything you do.
You don't have to be experiencing a crisis to seek support.
Understanding your anxiety
Therapy can offer you a space to slow things down and begin to understand what might be happening beneath the anxiety.
My approach is person-centred, which means I won't tell you how you should feel or try to fit your experience into a box. Instead, we'll work together to understand your individual experience, at a pace that feels right for you.
We can explore the thoughts, feelings, experiences and patterns that may be contributing to your anxiety, while creating space to develop greater self-awareness, self-compassion and a stronger sense of yourself.
Anxiety, stress and overwhelm
Anxiety can sometimes sit alongside stress, low self-esteem, difficult life experiences, relationship difficulties or feelings of being stuck.
You may feel that you're holding everything together on the outside while experiencing something very different internally.
Therapy can provide a confidential space to talk honestly about what you're experiencing without judgement.
Where appropriate, I may also draw on other therapeutic approaches and frameworks, particularly where anxiety is connected to trauma or experiences that continue to affect you in the present.
You don't have to work it all out before reaching out
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you've spent a long time managing things on your own.
You don't need to know exactly what's wrong or have the right words before you get in touch. We can begin with where you are now and take things from there.
I offer online therapy to clients across the UK, with in-person therapy available in Berkshire.
