ADHD & Neurodivergence Therapy
Understanding yourself differently
Living with ADHD or being neurodivergent can sometimes mean feeling as though the world wasn't designed with you in mind.
You may have spent years wondering why certain things seem easier for other people, while everyday tasks, relationships, emotions or expectations can feel much harder for you.
Perhaps you've recently discovered that you are neurodivergent, are exploring whether ADHD may be part of your experience, or have spent years feeling different without knowing why.
Therapy can provide a space to explore what this means for you.
Beyond the diagnosis
A diagnosis or understanding of neurodivergence can bring relief, but it can also bring up complicated feelings.
You may find yourself looking back at earlier experiences differently, questioning parts of your identity or grieving the support you didn't have before.
You may also be dealing with low self-esteem, anxiety, overwhelm, relationship difficulties or feeling that you have spent much of your life trying to fit into expectations that don't feel natural to you.
Therapy can give you space to explore these experiences without judgement.
A person-centred approach
My approach is person-centred. I won't try to change who you are or treat neurodivergence as something that needs to be fixed.
Instead, we can explore your individual experience, your strengths, your challenges and the ways you've learned to cope.
We can talk about identity, self-esteem, relationships, boundaries, emotional regulation, overwhelm and the impact of masking or feeling that you need to be someone you're not.
A space to be yourself
You don't need to explain or justify your experience in therapy.
You can arrive exactly as you are, and we can work together to understand what you need and what might help you feel more comfortable in your own life.
I offer online therapy to clients across the UK, with in-person therapy available in Berkshire.
